About Riverside Berners

Dogs are family at Riverside Berners. Our family’s path in breeding began with Dobermans in the 1980s and grew into a lifelong commitment to responsibly raising Bernese Mountain Dogs with care, knowledge, and hands-on attention.

Where Riverside Berners Began

Riverside Berners traces its origins to mid-2014, when Lyla was carefully selected and brought into our family. From the beginning, she was chosen through a methodical process from a multigenerational breeding program whose health-focused philosophy aligned with what we hoped to build. Bailey joined her as part of our first generation of females. Together, Lyla and Bailey established the foundation of Riverside Berners. Their daughters—Jasmine, Bella, Zoey, and Ginger—formed our second generation, followed by the subsequent generations represented in our family tree. Over more than a decade, Riverside Berners has developed into a multigenerational program focused on health, genetic diversity, thoughtful selection, and improved longevity. Our breeding decisions continue to evolve as we learn more about the breed and work to decrease coefficient of inbreeding while preserving the qualities that make Bernese Mountain Dogs exceptional family companions.

A purpose-built place for dogs

Just outside Dallas, Texas, our facilities span 10 acres and include a 1,200-square-foot climate-controlled kennel, 7,000 square feet of artificial-turf surfaces, and a full grooming and care area. Every detail is designed to give our dogs a healthy, engaging place to thrive.

Riverside Berners puppies

Our breeding practices combine hands-on care with genetic testing for DM SOD1A, DM SOD1B, and Von Willebrand Disease. Puppies go home at eight weeks, vaccinated and dewormed, and already beginning doggy-door potty training. Each puppy comes with a one-year health guarantee and lifetime support from our family.

Registration options

$2,500 — Limited AKC Registration with a spay/neuter contract. $4,500 — Full AKC Registration with breeding rights.
